What we handle that automated tools cannot
Most online PDF converters are great for simple documents and terrible for complex ones. We handle the complex cases that automated tools fail on:
- Multi-column layouts — PDFs with 2-3 column text flow, common in academic papers and reports
- Tables with merged cells — common in financial reports, schedules, and product catalogues
- Scanned PDFs — combined with OCR to make editable Word/Excel output
- Forms with field data — preserving filled-in form values during conversion
- Password-protected PDFs — unlocked, converted, and re-saved (we work with you on the legal/permission side)
- Handwritten elements — OCR'd and converted to text where possible
- Non-Latin scripts — Arabic, Chinese, Cyrillic, etc. Converted with proper font embedding
- Very large documents — 500+ page reports, books, manuals
Pricing
Conversion is priced per page.
- PDF to Word / PDF to PowerPoint / PDF to image — £10 per page (clean text), £15 per page (complex layout or scanned)
- PDF to Excel — £15 per table (simple), £25 per table (complex with merged cells or multi-sheet)
- Word / Excel / PowerPoint to PDF — £5 per page (formatted output), £10 per page (with reformatting for print)
- Image to PDF — £5 per image
Bulk discounts apply for 50+ pages.
Turnaround
Standard delivery: 48 hours. Most small conversions delivered within 24 hours.
Express: 12 hours, +£20 per order.
For very large jobs (500+ pages), we can parallelize across multiple editors.
Output quality
Every conversion includes a human review pass. We do not deliver raw OCR output. We deliver a file that you can actually use.
Specifically, after conversion we:
- Check the layout matches the original (within reason — some reflow is inevitable when changing format)
- Verify all text is present and correctly recognised (especially important for scanned PDFs)
- Verify tables are properly structured (headers, rows, merged cells)
- Check that formatting (bold, italic, headings) is preserved
- Ensure the file opens cleanly in the target application (Word, Excel, etc.)
